Chatty Monks sets up shop at Fairgrounds Farmers Market

Stand open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays

MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. - With hops and grains being some of beer's primary ingredients, the Chatty Monks Brewing Company is fitting right in to its new home.

The craft beer brewery opened its newest location Thursday morning at the Fairgrounds Farmers Market in Muhlenberg Township, across town from its original brewpub on Penn Avenue in West Reading.

The market stand offers seating for about 20 people and features hoppy fries and six of the brewery's beers on draft to drink there or to take home in a crowler or growler.

The new location is the second big venture undertaken by Chatty Monks in 2018. The company opened a new brewery on Carroll Street in southwest Reading earlier this year, expanding its ability to meet the growing demand for its beer at the West Reading brewpub and at other venues and events around the region.
