'Coffee with a Cop' to bring Reading PD, community together

READING, Pa. - Reading police officers and members of the community will soon come together over a cup of coffee.

The city announced Monday that the Reading Police Department and the Berks County Bar Association have teamed up with the DoubleTree Hotel to host "Coffee with a Cop."

The event will take place this Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree on Penn Street in center city.

"We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our officers," said Chief Andres Dominguez, Reading Police Department. "These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships."

Coffee with a Cop is part of a national initiative that provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about police work.
