Klinger's on Carsonia being readied for reopening

Community stands strong with...

LOWER ALSACE TWP., Pa. - A Berks County community is showing its support for Klinger's on Carsonia and its employees as the fire-damaged restaurant is readied for reopening.

A sell-out crowd gathered for a benefit dinner at the Antietam Valley Recreation Center in Exeter Township on Friday. The proceeds will help employees get by until the business reopens.

The restaurant and pub on Carsonia Avenue in Lower Alsace Township was damaged by fire on September 10.

Work is well underway to rebuild Klinger's kitchen and repair damaged caused by smoke and water. The goal, owners said, is to reopen in early November.
