Conrad Weiser to rely on O-line, defense in early going

Scouts to lean on O-line, defense in early going

ROBESONIA - The Conrad Weiser football team will be another major player in Berks Section I this year. However, until their offense gets up to speed, the Scouts will have to rely on their defense.

With a veteran-laden defense back for the 2013 season, Weiser feels like it will be able to stay in games with an offense that is in transition. The Scouts lost one of the best rushers in Berks County history in Angel Cruz, and a solid quarterback in Nick Schoener, to graduation last year.

But if those skill guys can adjust quickly, that will make the Scouts very dangerous behind a bigger, experienced offensive line.

Conrad Weiser hosts Blue Mountain on Friday night.
