Crime Alert celebrates another year with Redner's donation

WYOMISSING, Pa. - The number one crime stoppers group in Pennsylvania is celebrating another successful year.

Crime Alert Berks County will start its 17th year Friday. Members marked the milestone at A to Z Vacuum in Wyomissing on Thursday.

Tips to Crime Alert have helped police make 579 arrests during the past 16 years. All the rewards paid out during that time total more than $370,000.

Redner's Markets donated $26,000 to Crime Alert on Thursday. The money was raised through various fundraisers, including a golf outing involving 600 participants.
