DA, police investigating homicide near Boyertown

COLEBROOKDALE TWP., Pa. - Authorities are on the case of a homicide in Berks County.

District Attorney John Adams confirmed Thursday morning that an investigation is underway in Colebrookdale Township.

The scene is in the 100 block of Cleaver School Road, not far from Route 73 and just west of Boyertown. The coroner arrived there just after 11:30 a.m.

A neighbor told 69 News that he attended Boyertown Area Senior High School with the victim, who's name is being withheld by authorities.

"I've known him for at least 40 years, and then they moved in next door and our kids grew up together, and I just can't get over it," Mark Reifsnyder told WFMZ's Jim Vasil. "It's just hard to imagine someone would want to hurt him."

Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation.
