Dancing with the Reading Stars raises money for a good cause

LOWER ALSACE TWP., Pa. - Some familiar faces in Berks County were cutting a rug for a good cause Friday night.

More than 500 people came out to see "Dancing with the Reading Stars" at Stokesay Castle in Lower Alsace Township.

Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer showed off his best moves.

Other local community and business leaders also put their dance skills to the test.

Money raised benefited the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.

"This institution has thrived and grown and provided so many programs for individuals and that's why this event is so important," said chairperson Deanna Reuben.

The money will be used to support scholarships, productions and outreach programs.
