Dems pick special election candidate; Republicans pick Thurs

The Berks and Lehigh County Democratic committees have picked a candidate to run for a vacant state House seat.

Tuesday night they nominated Patrick Slattery to run in the special election to serve the 134th district.

Republicans are set to meet Thursday evening to pick their candidate.

The special election will be held with the state's primary on April 24.

The seat was held by Doug Reichley until he resigned after winning a seat on the Lehigh County Court.
