Divers recover man's body after boat capsizes at Blue Marsh Lake

BERN TWP., Pa. - Divers found the body of a missing boater at Blue Marsh Lake Saturday. The body of Cao Nguyen, 56, of Muhlenberg Township, was recovered at 1:36 p.m., according to the Berks County coroner.

Police said they initially received a call about a capsized boat around 12:20 a.m. Saturday. They said three men were in a small motorized fishing boat when it overturned near the Dry Brooks boat launch in Bern Township.

Police said they believe the boat was overloaded, which caused it to capsize. Jeff Piscanio, chief ranger at Blue Marsh, said two of men swam to shore. None of them was wearing life vests, he said.

Water rescue crews searched the area near the 1300 block of Palisades Drive for several hours. Divers found the Nguyen's car keys in the lake late Saturday morning and were eventually able to locate his body in the same area.
