Donated bikes will make Thun Trail safer

READING, Pa. - The Berks County Sheriff's Department has some new tools to make the Thun Trail safer.

Tom Masano Mercedes, the Berks Area Mountain Bike Association, and the Schuylkill River Heritage Area donated four mountain bikes to the sheriff's department Friday.

The bikes will be used for random patrols on the Thun Trail.

The trail has seen an increase of violent crime in the past year.
