Driver escapes serious injuries in crash near Sinking Spring

SUV ends up over creek in South Heidelberg Township

SOUTH HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. - A woman escaped with what officials described to be only minor injuries after her SUV went off the road and crashed in Berks County.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on South Albert Drive in South Heidelberg Township, near Sinking Spring.

Officials on the scene told 69 News that the SUV went off the road and down an embankment, coming to rest over a creek.

The woman behind the wheel needed help getting out of the vehicle. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation, but officials said it appeared she was not seriously injured.
