Driver hurt when car hits snow plow in Ephrata, police say

EPHRATA, Pa. - A woman was injured when her car struck a snow plow at work in Lancaster County.

Kristal Wissler was traveling west in the 600 block of Main Street (Route 322) in Ephrata around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, when her car drifted into the oncoming lane and struck the driver's side of a borough snow plow, police said.

The car hit the plow's fuel tank and rear driver's side tire.

Wissler, 44, of New Holland, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, police said; The plow truck driver, Nicholas Thomas of Denver, was not injured.

Main Street was closed for approximately 45 minutes so that both vehicles could be towed from the scene.

Traffic charges are pending further investigation, police said.
