Dutch Wonderland adds organic food options to park menu

EAST LAMPETER TWP., Pa. - Guests of Dutch Wonderland will find some additions to the theme park's dining menu this summer.

The park near Lancaster has added a new line of USDA-certified organic food items, including chicken tenders, hamburgers, and salads made with premium ingredients, officials announced Tuesday.

Dutch Wonderland said it is also offering new nutritious snack items, including apple juice and granola bars.

The goal, according to Ashlee Hurley, the park's marketing and promotions manager, is to provide guests with wholesome alternatives.

Tuesday's announcement comes on the heels of the park's Memorial Day weekend debut of Exploration Island, which is all-new for the 2014 season.

Guests of all ages are given the opportunity to experience an encounter with lifelike dinosaurs in their natural habitat and learn about their habits, history and family life through story boards and fact panels.
