WYOMISSING, Pa. - Black Friday isn't stopping people in Berks County from trying their luck at the evening's "Mega Millions" draw.
At $425 million, it's the lottery game's second highest jackpot.
"I'll take a chance on it," said Donna Brown, of Leesport, who was joined by masses of customers buying up tickets at Deon's 1 Stop Beverage in Wyomissing.
Owner Mark Deon told 69 News he's seen more lottery customers this week than ever before, from first-time buyers to regulars. Tickets sell for $1 apiece, and many customers have been buying many at once.
"Everybody's trying to get 'em and retire," said Deon.
Although, for most customers, the plan is to win big and give back.
"I would give it away - all of it," said Brown.
"I would help out the kids," said Paul Asquith, of Wyomissing.
While the odds of winning are about one in 259 million, many said they're feeling optimistic.
"I feel lucky most of the time," said Bill Jenckes.
"Good things come to those who wait, and I'm waiting," said Asquith. "Hopefully, I get lucky."
The drawing is scheduled for 11 p.m. Friday.
