Ex-teacher, coach ordered to prison in student sex case

A former high school teacher and coach who admitted to having sexual relationships with four female students has received a lifetime of punishment.

A judge on Tuesday sentenced Jonathan Bell to 10 to 20 years in prison and 10 years of probation.

Bell also has to register as a sexually violent predator and begin a lifetime of counseling upon his release from prison, officials said.

Bell taught art at Exeter High School and coached boys water polo in the Governor Mifflin School District.

He admitted to the relationships in December, pleading guilty to charges that included involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
