Exeter, Baltimore police working together on unsolved heists

EXETER TWP., Pa. - Police in two states are trying to determine whether the same man may be responsible for a pair of bank robberies roughly 100 miles apart.

The latest holdup happened last Friday at the Metro Bank on Perkiomen Avenue at Lorane Road in Exeter Township, Berks County.

The robber handed a teller a demand note and then made off with cash, police said.

Investigators believe the same man robbed a PNC Bank in Baltimore County, Maryland, on July 3, according to Detective Douglas Keener, Exeter Township Police Department.

Police from both departments are working together to identify the robber, Keener said.

Anyone with information about the holdup in Exeter can call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
