Exeter boys win title; RHS boys, Wyomissing girls fall short

Exeter boys stay perfect; RHS boys, Wyo girls fall

BERKS COUNTY - At Wyomissing, the Exeter boys (9-0) knocked off Schuylkill Valley (3-5) 55-32 to win the Wyomissing Holiday Tournament championship and stay undefeated.

Bryan Stinson and Derek Stump each scored ten points to lead the way for the Eagles.

Schuylkill Valley's Kyle Beissel paced all scorers with 16 points.

On the girls side of the bracket, Wyomissing (4-6) couldn't figure out Conestoga Valley (4-5), falling 37-26 in the championship game.

Mariah Peppers scored nine points for the Lady Spartans, who struggled on offense most of the day.


At the Reading High Holiday Tournament title game, the host Red Knights (5-5) lost to Dunbar (Md.) 59-41 Friday night.

Reading was only down four at halftime, but the Poets outscored the Red Knights 16-6 in the decisive fourth quarter.

Gilberto Benz paced Reading with 13 points on the night.
