Exeter, Mifflin preparing for Berks I showdown

BERKS COUNTY - Exeter will visit Governor Mifflin on Friday night in a meeting between Berks I contenders. The Eagles are a perfect 4-0 as they look to knock off the defending division champion Mustangs.

The Eagles are coming off a thrilling 17-16 victory over Conrad Weiser at home. Manny Soto scored a 44-yard touchdown late in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.

But Exeter doesn't plan to stop there.

With a victory at Mifflin Friday, the Eagles will have already defeated last year's Berks I champion and runner-up. Exeter knows it has the potential to do special things this year. But the team is making sure that the focus is on doing special things from one game to the next and not getting too far ahead.

As for the Mustangs (2-2), it's hard to judge where they are at. Mick Vecchio's team has been blown out by Wilson and Cocalico. However, both of their wins have come via the shut out.

Mifflin knows Friday's game will give it a chance to reassert it's will in the division and prove that the Mustangs are indeed a contender this year.

Governor Mifflin is coming off a 28-0 win at Daniel Boone. Friday's game will be featured on the Big Ticket.
