REIFFTON - The Exeter girl's volleyball team has won 66 consecutive Berks league matches. While the ability is always there, the Eagles say the most challenging aspect of keeping the streak alive is the focus day in and day out.
The Eagles (12-0, 12-0) have not lost a single set to a Berks team all season. But not every match has been smooth sailing for the team.
In fact, head coach Jason Grove and senior captain Lauren Blood say that it is very difficult to get the team "up" and motivated for every single game. It is clear that Exeter is one of the best, if the best, teams in the county. But coming in with a competitive edge three to four times a week can be difficult for anyone, especially a team as dominant as Exeter.
Despite that, the Eagles have found ways to get around it and stay perfect. Blood's leadership and a core junior class that is both very talented and close-knit are two keys to the success.
Exeter will enter the BCIAA tournament as one of the favorites, alongside Berks Catholic.
