Expectations sky-high for Berks Catholic football

Berks Catholic has high hopes in 2013

READING - The Berks Catholic football team enters the 2013 season as one of the favorites to win a county championship. The Saints, don't plan on stopping there.

B.C. returns a senior-laden club that went 9-2 last season. The Saints only losses came to Wyomissing in the final game of the season, then Schuylkill Valley in the District playoffs.

Rick Keeley's club is expecting to not only win a Berks League title, but to advance as far as the state tournament. One of Keeley's challenges this year will be keeping his team focused from a game-to-game basis.

One of the other obstacles will be making up for the loss of senior linebacker Nick Waligurski, who had a standout junior year in 2012. Waligurski will miss the entire football season with a knee injury.
