Fallen deputy remembered through fitness challenge

WYOMISSING, Pa. - A fallen Berks County sheriff's deputy's memory is being kept alive through a fitness challenge.

Alecia Pagerly, the widow of Kyle Pagerly, is funding the "Pagerly Call to Action Fitness Challenge."

About 50 first responders are taking the challenge at Corps Fitness in Wyomissing. It's a workout that's customized for police officers and firefighters.

"My friend, Kyle Pagerly, was unfortunately killed back in 2011," said Chris Kaag, president, Corps Fitness. "Him and I had the same opinion that, if you wear the uniform, you better look the part and you better act the part. You better be able to protect your buddies and be able to do the job regardless of what the circumstances are."

Kyle Pagerly was shot and killed in the line of duty in Albany Township in 2011. Fitness was a big part of his life.
