Fightins top Erie in home opener

READING, Pa. - After a successful road trip to start the year, the Reading Fightin' Phils beat Erie, 3-1, on Friday night in their home opener at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Seawolves spotted Reading two runs in the second inning on an error off the bat of Miguel Abreu.

Sebastian Valle added insurance with a solo home run to left in the fourth inning.

Seth Rosin pitched six shutout frames for the Fightins to earn the win.

Reading and Erie will continue their series on Saturday evening in Baseballtown.
