Fightin Phils end first half with loss at Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. - The Trenton Thunder defeated the Reading Fightin Phils, 10-6, on Monday afternoon at Arm & Hammer Park. It was the final game of the first half of the season for both teams.

The Fightins tied the game at 6 in the top of the 8th inning, but Trenton rattled off 4 unanswered runs in the bottom of the frame to seal the victory.

Jim Murphy and Anthony Hewitt each had 2 RBIs. Tommy Joseph also drove in his first run as a Fightin Phil this season. The catcher is working his way back up through the minors following a concussion.

Trenton took 4 of 5 in the series to give Reading a 38-51 record at the All-Star break.
