Firefighters fight 3-alarm fire in Birdsboro

BIRDSBORO, Pa. - A candle may have sparked a three-alarm fire in Birdsboro, Berks County, Thursday night.

The fire broke out around 8:10 p.m. in the 100 block of North Furnace Street.

At least three buildings were damaged.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. One injured his hand; the other hurt his knee.

Crews from Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties responded and remained on the scene for hours.

The American Red Cross is helping folks displaced by the fire.
