Fleetwood girls knock off Conrad Weiser

FLEETWOOD, Pa. - The Conrad Weiser and Berks Catholic girls entered the Tuesday tied for the division lead in Berks II.  Fleetwood was in third place, but they could gain some major ground if they could knock off Weiser at home.

The lady Tigers did just that behind big performances from Maureen McGarry and Cyre Virgo.

McGarry led Fleetwood with 17 points, Virgo added 15 and the Tigers defeated the Scouts 53-48 Tuesday night. The win puts the Tigers within a game of second place behind Weiser. Berks Catholic now controls Berks II.

Hannah Racis tallied a game-high 18 points for the Scouts. Rachel Zerbe pitched in 15.

Fleetwood (5-3, 15-4) will head to Schuylkill Valley Thursday. Conrad Weiser (6-2, 15-4) hosts Hamburg Thursday evening.
