Former Berks official apologizes before sentencing

Berks County's former recorder of deeds says she's sorry.

Ellie Antoine apologized as she was sentenced Friday to six months in federal prison and six months house arrest. She also received three years' probation. She did pay restitution.

Antoine pleaded guilty in January to mail fraud and related charges.

Authorities said she overcharged people and businesses between 2004 and 2007, netting herself more than $150,000.

She'll start her prison term in about 45 days.
