Fox powers Reading past Akron

READING, Pa. - The Reading Fightin Phils (43-59) defeated the Akron RubberDucks (57-49) on Thursday night, 6-1, to open a 4-game series at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Jake Fox paced the offense with a 2-run home run, his 14th of the season. He tallied 3 RBIs on the night. Carlos Alonso also added a 2-run shot.

Ryan O'Sullivan (5-5) got the win after allowing no runs through 5 innings. He escaped multiple bases-loaded jams. Akron left 13 men on base, going 0-10 with RISP.

These two teams continue their series Friday night.
