Friday full of free Chick-fil-A chicken, 7-Eleven Slurpees

READING, Pa. - Many took advantage of a deal 7-Eleven and Chick-fil-A offered Friday.

We found some folks taking advantage of 7-Eleven's deal for a free small Slurpee at the store on Lackawanna Street in northwest Reading.

The convenience store chain was giving out Slurpees in honor of Friday's date -- 7/11 -- between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

If you download the 7-Eleven app, you could land more free stuff for the upcoming week.

Some in Berks County also donned their best cow costumes to score some free food. It was mostly little ones dressed up when we stopped by the Chick-fil-A in Exeter Township.

Anyone dressed "head to hoof" in cow gear could get a free combo meal Friday. Folks with just a few cow spots could score a free entree.

The promotion is part of a day the company has dubbed "Cow Appreciation Day."

It's estimated that one million cow-clad costumers will take advantage of the offer this year.
