Former cop pleads guilty in store shoplifting case

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A former corporal for the Amity Township Police Department has pleaded guilty to one count of retail theft.

Glenn Oesterling was sentenced to two years probation following the plea in Montgomery County court.

Oesterling twice shoplifted from the Giant Food Store in West Pottsgrove Township, near Pottstown, last year, said authorities, who noted that he had his three children with him both times.

Oesterling was fired from the force in September.
