Globetrotter puts own 'spin' on visit with students

PENN TWP., Pa. - A member of the Harlem Globetrotters got quite the reception on Tuesday.

Handles Franklin showed off some of his signature moves at Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Berks Co.

His visit is part of the team's CHEER for Character program, which focuses on character traits such as cooperation, enthusiasm and responsibility.

"The Harlem Globetrotters we pride ourselves on not only being great athletes but ambassadors of goodwill," said Franklin. "So, it's important that we talk to kids and get positive messages out to kids."

Franklin and the rest of the Globetrotters will be showing off their skills at the Sovereign Center in Reading on New Year's Eve.
