Mustangs prevail in 5 sets over rival Bulldogs

Mustangs outlast Bulldogs for BCIAA crown

LAURELDALE, Pa. - In Laureldale, Governor Mifflin knocked off Wilson in 5 sets, 3-2, to claim the BCIAA boys volleyball championship. After 4 close games, the Mustangs cruise in the 5th set, 15-4.

Alex Cortellessa paced Mifflin with 13 kills. Andrew Wasmuth added 41 assists and Brian Beyer tallied 7 blocks.

Anthony Rivera carried Wilson with 18 kills and 43 assists. Sheku Koroma registered 25 kills while Austin Lubas pitched in another 21.

Both teams will begin District 3 tournament play on Thursday. Governor Mifflin will meet Hershey at Garden Spot. Wilson will face Lower Dauphin at Hempfield.
