Governor Mifflin's M. Johnson, Boyertown's Wood advance to 3A state semis

Pair of Berks wrestlers still in contention for 3A gold

HERSHEY, Pa. - Governor Mifflin's Marcus Johnson and Boyertown's Jordan Wood advanced to the PIAA 3A semifinals on Friday at the Giant Center.

Johnson tallied a 6-0 decision over Parkland's Nezar Heddad. He'll face Norristown's Brett Harner in the semifinals Saturday morning.

Marcus' cousin, Jan Johnson, was edged by Hampton's Jacob Hart, 4-3, in the quarterfinals shortly after Marcus' bout.

Wood also scored a win over a Parkland product. He defeated Shaun Heist via decision, 6-1. Wood will meet Zach DeLuca of Central Catholic on Saturday. Bouts begin at 9:00 A.M.
