New owner Gulati sets lofty expectations for Royals

READING - The Reading Royals will wrap up the regular season with three games in Florida this week. When they return home to begin the playoffs, their new owners will be hoping for a second straight Kelly Cup championship.

Berks entrepreneur and new Royals owner Jack Gulati was introduced at Santander Arena on Tuesday. The finalization of the team's sale was just one of the many items that Gulati spoke about.

Keeping the franchise in Reading, Improving the game night experience, organizing relationships with local businesses and helping in the revitalization of downtown were all on the agenda.

But both Gulati and Royals coach Larry Courville, via speaker-phone, also said that a main goal is to improve the team's infrastructure - things such as locker rooms, travel and housing - that will continue to bring talented players into Reading.
