Hamburg girls leaving their mark on program

HAMBURG - The majority of teams in Berks County begin District tournament play Tuesday or Wednesday. But the Hamburg girls began their postseason run on Friday in record fashion.

The Hawks ran away with a 15-point victory over Trinity for the program's first-ever win at the District level.

Hamburg has a tough task ahead of it Wednesday when it visits second-seeded Palmyra.

The team is ready, riding a wave of momentum from Friday. The Hawks are also anxious for a chance to prove themselves yet again following another competitive year in the vaunted Berks II division.
