At Hamburg, the Hawks (1-0, 2-0) knocked off defending county champions Fleetwood 1-0. The Hawks Joey Cominsky pitched a complete game shut out, striking out eight Tigers while surrendering only four hits.
The lone run on the day came in the sixth inning. Hamburg's Tyler Seidel leadoff the inning with a triple down the right field line. Seidel scored on a balk during the following at bat.
Fleetwood (0-1, 0-2) pitcher Clay Weidemoyer pitched a six inning complete game. Weidemoyer struck out six and only allowed three hits on the day.
At Laureldale, Muhlenberg (1-0, 1-1) broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with two runs and defeated Daniel Boone (0-1, 0-2), 2-0, on Wednesday night.
John Henninger walked with the bases loaded to put the Muhls ahead. After that, Conor Williams ripped an RBI single to right to give Muhlenberg its two run cushion.
That was plenty for Tyler Sassaman, who threw a five-hit shutout and stuck out eight for the Muhls.
Justin Herring was the tough luck loser on the mound on the mound for the Blazers. He fanned nine and allowed just three hits.
