From the streams to the greens, Berks County was gifted with a gorgeously pleasant autumn day Monday.

"It's beautiful," said Suzy Sands. "Absolutely beautiful."

Temperatures nearing 80 degrees in the Reading area gave golfers a good excuse to get out and hit the links. They took advantage at Flying Hills in Cumru Township.

"There are a lot of other golfers on the course and they do seem to be enjoying it very much," said Sands.

Meanwhile, some fishermen might tell you anything is a good excuse to cast the line, but this late in the year, they said they're lucky to have a day like this. Fish were biting at Gring's Mill in Spring Township.

"Caught some rainbow trout today. Decent size. Awesome day," said Brafeford Brunner. "Usually, it's about 45-50 degrees, a little chilly to go fishing, but we'll take today."

No carving jack-o-lanterns, just carving out a nice drive down the fairway or a cast out into the river.

Tuesday's forecast high temperature of 86 degrees in Berks County is one degree above the record of 85, which was set in 1908.
