Indoor ice racing set for return to Reading

Event will coincide with annual Reading Fire + Ice Fest

READING, Pa. - Motorcycle and ATV racers from around the world will fulfill their need for speed on the ice in Reading this winter.

The Santander Arena announced Monday that it will host International Championship Events' (I.C.E.) world championship ice racing on January 13, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

"I.C.E. is the leader and innovator in indoor ice racing," promoters said in a release. "I.C.E. has the toughest, fastest and most extreme flat track motorcycle and ATV racers in the world."

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Santander Arena box office on Penn Street and online through Ticketmaster.

Billed as "the greatest spectacle on ice," the indoor racing championship will take place on the first day of the annual Reading Fire + Ice Fest.

The two-day festival will also feature several other indoor and outdoor activities, including an ice-carving exhibition, concerts and a chili cook-off competition.
