International illusionist performs at high school

RICHMOND TWP., Pa. - An international illusionist is back home in Berks County to perform a magic show for children near Fleetwood.

Jason Bishop is a traveling Illusionist who performs large magic shows for audiences around the world. But on Friday, he came back to his roots to perform a show at Willow Creek Elementary School in Richmond Township.

"It is cool. We do not do a lot of shows in the area. We are always somewhere else," said illusionist Jason Bishop.

Bishop grew up as a foster kid in Berks County. He says in addition to performing magic, he wanted kids to know there are endless possibilities.

"When I was coming up as a foster kid there were no positive influences for foster kids. You just thought you were going to be a loser. So I think that is kind of cool for them to know that there are possibilities," said Bishop.

The elementary school had a reading competition so Bishop also tried to tell students how important reading was for his career.

Bishop will be performing at the Santander Performing Arts Center Saturday night.
