Judge dismisses lawsuit against Reading School District

READING, Pa. - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the I-LEAD Charter School against the Reading School District.

I-LEAD had accused the district of violating federal and state laws when it voted in May 2016 to revoke I-LEAD's charter.

"It is easy to conclude from the decision that the Reading School District acted lawfully and that these claims were frivolous," said school board President Abraham Cepeda. "I hope the district can move forward from these baseless accusations."

Judge Jeffrey Schmehl's decision comes a week after the State Charter School Apeal Board voted to overturn the charter school's revocation, allowing I-LEAD to remain open.
