KU baseball, softball split Friday double headers

Golden Bears begin weekend with twin bill splits

Kutztown baseball and softball earn splits Friday

KUTZTOWN - The Kutztown University baseball and softball teams split their double headers on Friday afternoon at North Campus Field. The baseball team took on East Stroudsburg while softball faced off with Bloomsburg.

Starting with baseball, the Golden Bears took game 1, 4-3, but dropped game 2, 10-0. That means Kutztown will have to sweep ESU on Saturday in order to get into the PSAC Tournament.

As for softball, Danielle Sienko hit a walk-off single in game 1 to lift KU to a 4-3 victory over Bloomsburg. But the Huskies rebounded big in game 2, rolling to an 11-3 victory.

The Golden Bears will finish out the regular season at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
