KU coming off big season

Golden Bears made run to national title game last year

Kutztown softball looks for return to national title game

KUTZTOWN - Kutztown softball coach Judy Lawes said last season that when the weather warmed up, so would her team. She was on the money. The Golden Bears went on a tear at the end of last spring, going all the way to the NCAA Division II championship game.

KU lost to Central Oklahoma in the title game , but not after one of the most memorable runs in program history.

The Golden Bears are out to a slow start this season. The team lost four seniors, so it is taking some time for returners and new starters to hit their stride.

The Golden Bears are confident that will happen, especially when the bats wake up.

KU is 3-6 in the early going and heads to Salem at the end of the week for a tournament.
