Kutztown, Albright preparing for tough conference tests

Kutztown, Albright excited for big games

BERKS COUNTY - The Kutztown and Albright football teams are preparing for tough tests within each of their respective conferences this weekend.

The Golden Bears (1-3, 1-6) will host regional rival East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon. It is also Homecoming weekend at Kutztown, so the team wants to get on the board early in order to get crowd into the game right away.

Kutztown is coming off a 25-point loss at Shippensburg last week.

Albright (3-2, 4-2) will head on the road for a huge showdown with first-place Lycoming on Saturday. Out of their final four games, the Lions will face three of top teams in the MAC.

Albright hasn't defeated the Warriors since 2009, but they feel prepared heading into this one. The team has been studying film from their last few meetings and knows that this game will be decided by turnovers, possession and field position.

The Lions are coming off a 30-12 victory over Wilkes last Saturday.
