Kutztown Lions Club donates money for Pagoda preservation

READING, Pa. - An iconic part of the Reading skyline is getting a gift.

The president of the Reading Pagoda Foundation accepted a $500 check from the Kutztown Lions Club on Friday.

"It is the namesake and landmark of Berks County, so we decided as a club we wanted to ensure that it's preserved," said Martin Kozlowski, the club's treasurer.

The Pagoda was built atop Mount Penn more than 100 years ago. It was originally meant to be a luxury resort.
