Kutztown University issues traffic advisory for student move-in day

Some 1,900 freshmen to move in to residence halls on Saturday

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown's population will swell this weekend as approximately 1,900 freshmen arrive on the Kutztown University campus.

The freshmen move-in day is scheduled for this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The influx of students and their parents has prompted university officials to advise motorists of heavy traffic on roads on and around campus, including Route 222.

The heaviest traffic, officials said, is expected from 9 a.m. until noon, officials said.

Students, faculty and staff will be available to assist freshmen with the unloading of their vehicles. They'll be directed to do so as quickly as possible and then move their vehicles to the north campus, where parking will be permitted.

Parking will not be allowed on the south campus during move-in, officials said.
