Laundromat attack might not be the only one of its kind

READING, Pa. - A new video has surfaced of another assault inside of a laundromat in downtown Reading.

The video captures a woman in her 80s being attacked and thrown to the ground by a man, who sources say, also stole $20 from the victim.

The crime happened at the Penn Street Laundromat in the 900 block of Penn Street.

69 News showed the video to criminal investigators.

Authorities said they would look into whether this attack is related to the brutal attack on a 49-year-old homeless man that happened just one day earlier, Jan. 12, in the very same laundromat.

During that crime, surveillance cameras captured a group of at least four people beating a homeless man, inside the laundromat, with a cone, trash can, and a laundry basket.

"The gentleman received permission from the business owner that, on extremely cold nights, he would be able to go in there and seek shelter, and that's the reason he was in there," said Sgt. John Solecki, Reading police. "He wasn't bothering anyone. He was just in the back corner sleeping when these individuals entered."

Police have charged Ana Ferrer-Reyes and Keith Darnell Allison in connection with the assault on the homeless man.

They are still looking for two more people.
