READING, Pa. - The Royals may have lost captain Yannick Tifu over the summer. But the team has done well to bring back veteran guys like Bryant Molle and Ryan Cruthers to fill the leadership void.
Reading has taken the same action behind the bench.
The Royals have brought on Kirk MacDonald to serve as the team's assistant coach for the coming season.
A key player in the 2013 Kelly Cup championship run, MacDonald returns to Reading for his pro coaching debut under Larry Courville.
MacDonald racked up 217 points over a seven-year career which included stints in the AHL and ECHL.
