Man charged with attempted homicide in shooting in Reading

READING, Pa. - Reading police have made an arrest in a shooting on the city's south side earlier this week.

Arrested and arraigned Friday was Christian Diaz-Hernandez on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses. He was committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Diaz-Hernandez is accused of opening fire in the area of South 11 and Cotton streets Wednesday evening, reportedly shooting another man in the abdomen.

Police have not yet released any other information about the shooting or the victim.
