Man sought in daring theft of TVs from Walmart near Hamburg

TILDEN TWP., Pa. - The search is on for a man who made off with a pair of flat-screen televisions from the Walmart store near Hamburg.

The theft happened around 7:15 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart on Tilden Ridge Drive in Tilden Township, state police said Tuesday.

The man entered the store, obtained a shopping cart, walked back to the electronics section, loaded the two flat-screen TVs into the cart and then left the store through an emergency exit, police said.

Once in the parking lot, police said the man loaded the TVs into a dark blue minivan as the getaway driver lay in wait. They then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

The value of the stolen TVs was estimated to be $1,296, police said.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
