Manderbach Ford nears completion of new location in Hamburg

Dealership to relocate from Muhlenberg site

HAMBURG, Pa. - Manderbach Ford is moving closer to moving to its new home in northern Berks County.

The dealership announced Thursday that it is nearing completion of its new location on a 12.9-acre site on the western edge of Hamburg.

The 46-732-square-foot location at Route 61 and Grand Street will feature a showroom, offices on the first and second floors, a dual service drive, a new car delivery area, and a five-bay QuickLane service area.

A 16,500-square-foot collision center will include two paint booths for both cars and trucks, a fully enclosed aluminum body-sanding station, and numerous bays for bodywork.

Montgomery County-based Oliver Construction Inc. is handling the build, as it has done for several other car dealerships in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Styergroup served as Manderbach's architect.

Manderbach is set to make the 12-mile move from its current site on the Fifth Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township in June.

The Germany-based Lidl grocery store chain plans to demolish the current dealership and build a 36,000-square-foot store as part of its aggressive expansion in the United States.

The property is adjacent to the Town Square Plaza, which is home to stores that include a Giant, Target, and A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts.

The development is part of the ongoing Fifth Street Highway revitalization project.
