Police in Berks search for alleged rapist

HAMBURG, Pa. - Authorities in Berks County are on the hunt for a rape suspect.

The rape, police said, happened early Thursday morning when Keyen Darnell Camper forced his way into a home on South 3rd Street in Hamburg.

Camper assaulted a 24-year-old woman by striking her repeatedly with a belt, said police, adding that Camper then sexually assaulted her, according to police.

The victim was able to flee the home, police said. She was subsequently treated and released from St. Joseph Medical Center.

Hamburg police have issued an arrest warrant for Camper on charges of rape, indecent assault, burglary, terroristic threats and related offenses.

Camper, who previously lived in Reading, has a tattoo on the right side of his neck with the words "Lee Lee," police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamburg police at 610-562-7228 or the Crime Alert Berks County anonymous tip line at 877-373-9913.
